Estefanía García - MIACP
“One day, in retrospect, the years of struggle will strike you as the most beautiful” (Freud)
My name is Estefanía and I hold a first-class honours degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am a member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP), and adhere to the professional Code of Ethics of this Organisation. Currently I am pursuing a Masters of Science in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy at UCD School of Medicine, St. Vincent's University Hospital. I speak English and Spanish.
My work is psychoanalytically oriented and is based on the belief that you already have the solution. So, let’s find it!
The practice of psychoanalytic psychotherapy recognises that often, the language (verbal and non-verbal) of that solution only needs to be heard in order to be consciously realised and put into action. I will help you identify and define this language. Finding the words to say “it” allows for better emotional intelligence, and alleviation of dilemmas.
You will have the time and space to speak whatever comes to your mind, to put together your thoughts. Whatever the reason that brings you here – your job, stress, your relationship, depression, anxiety, bereavement and loss, trauma, gender and sexual diversities … – whatever it might be, the beginning of your own solution will begin to take form by letting your particular language be heard by me, but most importantly, by yourself.
