Lisa Curran
Adolescent Psychotherapist and Adult Counsellor
Navigating adolescence can feel like weathering a persistent storm. As an Adolescent
Psychotherapist and Adult Counsellor with experience in school and community settings, I provide a calm, confidential space where young people can explore their thoughts without judgment. Many teenagers struggle with anxiety, low-self-esteem, or overwhelming pressures of academic and family life. Often, the hardest hurdle is simply finding the words to describe their complex internal world.
My approach is gentle and creative, utilising specialised techniques like sand tray therapy. These methods allow for expression through symbols and imagination, removing the pressure of direct verbalisation. By exploring difficult experiences in a safe, natural way, we build self-awareness and healthier coping strategies. When appropriate, I collaborate with parents to bridge communication gaps at home. My ultimate goal is to help every young person feel truly heard and secure. With the right support, they can move forward with greater resilience, clarity, and confidence in their unique future as they launch into adulthood.
