Jim Devine
Counsellor
Hi, my name is Jim. I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor registered with the BACP. I have worked in the area of health and social care for 20+ years and have a wide range of experience including working within homeless/addiction services, children’s residential care, asylum & refugee services, sexual exploitation support and trauma counselling services.
Life can feel extremely complex and overwhelming at times. Individual trauma and complex trauma can have a devastating effect on the ability to process how we feel and manage emotions on a daily basis. This in turn can have a negative impact on family relationships, the capacity to parent, to engage with friends as well as coping with the demands of work. Having a neurodiverse condition or suspected condition can make the processing of emotions and the ability to cope even more difficult.
I offer a non-judgmental space to discuss and explore what ever is having an impact on your life. I will support you to better understanding yourself and to develop more positive ways of managing your emotions.
I am also trained in completing Autism (ADOS-2) assessments and work in collaboration with other professionals to do so.
