Jill Bleakney

Counsellor

Hi, I’m Jill!

Thank you for taking the time to read my bio, and for taking the first step in looking for some support.

It can be hard to know what you’re looking for when you first reach out for some help, so I’ll tell you a little about myself, and you can decide if we may be a good fit.

I am an Integrative Counsellor, which means I can use a variety of approaches depending on what you need from our sessions. My core approach is Person-centred, meaning I believe in working at your pace, in a way that feels right for you. I also draw on elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Psychodynamic therapy to help explore patterns, thoughts, and behaviours when that feels supportive. I have additional training in Motivational Interviewing and a special interest in issues around addiction, disordered eating and body image.

At the heart of my work is the belief that a strong, trusting relationship between client and counsellor is key to meaningful change. I offer a warm, open, and relaxed space where we can build a relationship that supports you to explore what’s going on in your life – at your own pace and in your own way.

Whether you're facing something specific or feeling generally overwhelmed, I’ll work alongside you with care and curiosity. If you’d like to find out more or see if we’re a good fit, I’d be happy to hear from you.

I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)and I am working towards accreditation.
