Jacqueline Mallon

Counsellor

It can take courage to decide to access therapy, and to be willing to confront and be open to another about personal experiences.
A lot can be achieved given a safe space to talk, think and feel through what is or has happened, where you feel valued, and your experiences are validated.  It can also really help to better understand the function of the mind and brain and to learn how it is susceptible to certain difficulties, and to identify when these are maintained by patterns of self-criticism. It can make a real difference to be better able to recognise what may be occurring, and to become more able to tolerate and work through inner conflicts and what can be causing distress.
I offer a biopsychosocial and humanistic approach to therapy and am a fully accredited MBACP counsellor with 13 years of experience. I hold a BSc (hons) Degree in Psychology and Sociology, Level 5 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, and am completing the Master’s level Diploma in Compassion Focused Therapy. I have also trained hundreds of staff in university, college and community settings in Mental health First Aid.
While from Northern Ireland I worked in London for very many years and am experienced in supporting people from a vast array of ethnic and culturally diverse backgrounds, and know the importance of providing a space in which this can be discussed.
