Jack Sheehan - MIACP & MBACP
Psychotherapist and Practice Manager
Hi, I’m Jack - Psychotherapist, Lecturer, and Co-Owner of MindSpace.
With almost ten years’ experience as a therapist, I have had the pleasure of supporting clients from all over the World, both in-person and through online therapy.
I predominantly work from a psychodynamic perspective. This involves helping clients to understand how their past experiences have shaped their current life, paying attention to their family system, attachment style, and how they relate to themselves and others. I also draw on Existential theory, encouraging clients to embark on a process of deep reflection regarding their identity and their way of being in the World, focusing on concepts such as purpose, meaning, anxiety, and mortality. For those who are in need of more solution focused work, I integrate various techniques from CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), moving the client from awareness to practical change.
I bring a person-centred and trauma-informed approach to therapy, understanding that clients want to sit across from a real person with real life experiences and that our therapeutic relationship will be key to the progress made. I have experience working with issues such as anxiety, depression, grief, relationship issues, family dynamics, complex trauma, PTSD, self-esteem, and LGBTQIA+ related issues.
If you attend my practice you will find yourself in a warm, safe, and non-judgemental environment, where you can be yourself and work on any issues that are causing you distress in your life.
