Christopher McCarthy

Counsellor

Hello, my name is Christopher, and I am a fully qualified integrative therapist registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). My approach is rooted in humanistic, psychodynamic, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) modalities, and is underpinned by trauma-informed practice. This allows me to tailor therapy to meet your unique needs and experiences.

My practice includes supporting individuals facing a wide range of challenges, including
anxiety, depression, stress, relationship and family issues, grief, bereavement, and
bereavement by suicide. I also work with clients who are processing past trauma, and my trauma-informed approach offers a safe space for reflection and healing at a pace that feels right for you. I have a passionate interest in working with LGBTQIA+ clients and have experience working within a queer therapy organisation.

In our work together, you will find a collaborative and non-judgemental space, where your voice will be heard and respected and your expertise in your own life experience will be valued. Therapy with me is about building a supportive partnership, exploring your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a way that honours your personal journey and allows you to feel empowered in your life. Whether you are dealing with life transitions, emotional struggles, or seeking a deeper understanding of yourself, I am here to offer a safe and accepting environment for self-discovery and healing.
